ALLANWATER HOMES – INSPIRED LIVING

Energy efficiency ratings table

Are Energy Efficient Homes more important today?

88% of people believe they are, especially in the current economic climate.

Wouldn’t you like to cut your energy bills and live in a more comfortable environment? With innovative technology advances and government incentives for home builders and buyers, it has never been easier or more cost-effective to do so.

Many of us know that the bills for heating and electricity are becoming more expensive so this is perhaps not surprising. Reducing our energy use should also be a priority, particularly as it can have a knock-on effect on our bank balance.

Energy Efficiency is more than just a trend. It’s a way of life for consumers today. Whether it’s concerns about the economy, rising gas prices, or just the quest to help save the planet, home buyers, sellers and renters are all talking about energy efficiency when searching for a home.

You’re probably thinking that buying a new build property will cost a lot more than an existing home, but you’d be wrong! A brand new home could save you between £100 – £400 off your monthly bills and save 15000kg of CO2 per year. Whereas the average energy rating for an existing house is D, a new build home rating is B, making them one of the most energy-efficient homes on the market!

Why, you might ask? Well, new build homes contain the most energy-efficient materials and products as possible, giving you a healthier home. This means lower running costs, a reduced carbon footprint and better comfort throughout the year. Not only does it help homeowners save, but new build properties receive an A or B EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating for energy efficiency, while just 3% of existing properties reach the same standard!

Energy efficiency is at the heart of every home we build at Allanwater, which is why all our homes are built with an EPC rating of B. From roof solar panels to kitchen appliances, we believe in building homes that positively impact the environment and your bank balance.
